Dereck Chisora mustered up enough energy to have a pop at fellow Brit David Haye at the post-fight press conference as the two Londoner’s became involved in a brawl that threatened to get out of control, much to the bewilderment of those watching.
According to eye witnesses, ‘Del Boy’, fresh from his unanimous points defeat to Vitali Klitschko, was talking calmly about the fight before shouting abuse at David Haye before running at him and touting the former WBA heavyweight champion about his loss to Vitali’s younger brother Wladimir last July.
After the melee, Chisora reportedly said “If David doesn’t fight me, I’m going to find him on the street and kill him. I am going to shoot David Haye.”
Things started to get heated with Haye appearing to get angry with comments made by the Klitschko’s manager Bernd Boente about not getting a fight with Vitali. That set the tone for the violence that would follow after Haye called Chisora ‘a loser’.
The two then began to fight, with the ‘Hayemaker’ throwing a punch before the two wrestled around with Don Charles until the fight was broken up. Haye was seen tangling with Chisora’s trainer Charles before making his exit, leaving Wladimir Klitschko seemingly amused but unimpressed.
It is being reported that Haye’s trainer Adam Booth suffered a cut whilst trying to split up the fight, with Chisora claiming to have been hit with a bottle by Haye. Video footage clearly shows Haye launching a tripod stand, whilst Chisora can clearly be seen brandishing a bottle.
The BBC’s Ben Dirs said “After some verbal exchanges between Chisora, Haye and Wladimir Klitschko, Chisora left his seat and approached Haye and there followed a five-minute melee akin to a bar-room brawl from which emerged a bloodied Chisora, a bloodied Adam Booth and wild accusations from all camps.”
