This past Saturday rugged Daniel Ponce De Leon (40-3, 34KOs) lost to sensational P4P Cuban fighter Yuriorkis Gamboa when the fight ended in the 8th Round due to a clash of heads opening a gash on Ponce De Leon’s head. Referee Allan Huggins waved the fight off after reviewing the gash and left in the judges hands. At first the fight was declared a TKO in the 8th Rd. but was quickly changed to an UD with scores of 80-72, 80-72, and 79-73 all for the winner for Yuriorkis Gamboa.
Ponce De Leon returned to “Leave it in the RinG” airwaves to discuss the outcome and his next step in his career .
