Sebastian Sylvester came into his fight for the European Middleweight title against Poland’s-Grzegorz Proksa, aiming to avenge his shock loss back in May where he lost his IBF Middleweight Title to Australia’s-Daniel Geale.
It was a sluggish start by the former world champion with Proska stepping up in class fighting the German, coming forward well early using his jab effectively and dominating the centre ring position.
Sylvester was caught very early on from a Proska right hand which opened up bad cut over Sebastian’s right eye which was spilling blood. Proska worked away at the cut during the 3rd round and unloaded on the German late in the round.
During the break the corner worked on the cut but it wasn’t going to get better and the corner told the French referee to call a stop to the bout.
Proska claimed the European Title which was vacated by Darren Barker who fights Sergio Martinez later tonight. This may prove to be the end for Sylvester on the top of the Middleweight division.
Cunningham Robbed In Germany
American and IBF Cruiserweight champion, Steve Cunningham bought his title defense to Germany to take on Yoan Pablo Hernandez. Cunningham was down in the first round after a slow start but was able to recover during the 2nd.
