Santiago vs Ruiz
Phoenix native Alexis Santiago is riding a hot streak as blazing as his hometown in July. Having won nine in a row, the 118-pound veteran is looking to build upon the considerable career momentum that he’s generated for himself since suffering his last loss to Roman Morales way back in the summer of 2012.
Vying to play the cooler against Santiago is 24-year-old Californian Erik Ruiz. Last time out, Ruiz handed previously unbeaten 118-pound prospect Roy Tapia his first loss, and he’ll aim to be spoiler once again when he squares off with Santiago in a high-stakes showdown in the boxing capital of the world.
