Weights ahead of Wembley showdown

RICKY Burns and Michael Katsidis have just stepped off the scales at the official weigh in ahead of their clash for the interim WBO lightweight title.

Katsidis was first up scaling 9st 9lbs (130lbs) followed by a confident looking Burns who scaled exactly the same, bang on the lightweight limit of 9st 9lbs (130lbs).

The two men engaged in the customary head to head where both showed class with a hand shake before returning to their teams.

In the chief support for the British and Commonwealth super middleweight titles, challenger Paul Smith was first on the scales weighing 11st 13lbs and ¾ before champion George Groves kept everybody waiting, eventually scaling the same 11st 13lbs and ¾.

In the head to head there seemed to be genuine needle between the pair as they exchanged words before Groves walked off leaving Smith staring at him for a few seconds.

Hot prospect Billy Joe Saunders weighed in ahead of his Southern Area middleweight clash with champion Gary Boulden, scaling 11st 5lbs 5oz to Boulden’s 11st 5lbs 13oz.

Should be an explosive night of action ahead on Saturday November 5 at Wembley Arena live on Box nation CH 456
